Double Impact

Twins Andy and Paul Chapman grew up with their four brothers in their family home in Woodford, Essex. Growing up in a musical house with father Colin, a professional singer, it was not long before Andy and Paul revealed their natural singing ability and their talent for performing.

They formed group Touched with brothers Dino and Simon. Touched, were the only unsigned act ever to perform live on the BBC National Lottery Show. As well as being top of the bill at the internationally renowned Music Festival of the World in Maastricht, Touched also performed together at The Cafe Royal, The Red Cross Charity function, The Circus Tavern and Cambridge University’s Annual Ball. They also performed to a celebrity audience at the Sky TV Awards; they were soon whipped up and selected from 25.000 people to sing live as guests on the Michael Barry Moore show! Their most recent gig was at Lincoln Castle, where they had performed alongside acts like Girls Aloud and Lemar.

The brothers’ passion and commitment to music even resulted in a peculiar incident with presenter Chris Evans. Eager to showcase their talent the cheeky chappies had heard that Evans (who was Virgin’s top DJ at the time) would be outside at a certain point. And waited until 4am for him to arrive. As Evans exited his taxi the boys emerged from the shadows singing ‘My Girl’ accapella in the middle of the street! After recovering from this initial shock Evans was so impressed with there voices that he invited them up to Virgin Radio the very same morning to where they sang live on air to the nation. "You guys have to experience what I heard this morning" - Quote from Mr. Chris Evans

The combination of their high energy and genuine musical ability as well as an undeniable ability to allure their listeners, gained them a contract with major record label Universal, which unfortunately ended prematurely due to changes in management personnel.

Andy and Paul then decided to form Double Impact and have been working together professionally for over 3 years. They came into the limelight when they entered ITV’s hit show X-Factor getting down to the last 14 acts. The combination of their dulcet voices and their unique harmonies meant they received excellent feedback from Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and even Simon Cowell. Their charisma and their surprising exit left a lasting impression on the public and the media. So much so, that they were invited onto GMTV the following Monday where they were interviewed and sang live.

Andy and Paul are influenced by a plethora of music genres and especially by the great performers of our time from Elvis to Freddie Mercury to Bob Marley, Double impact have pioneered their own sound on a commercial level. They write, compose and produce all of their own music, playing guitars and arranging their own harmonies. They co-wrote a song called ‘A Man Like Me’ (Un Umbre Asis), which became Spain’s biggest selling single of all time, and was sung by Pop Idol winner Tony Santos.

Double Impact are currently occupied with a busy schedule of gigs around the UK. They are working hard to try to break through the music industry with their own material and style, which they continuing to develop, so that they can share their talent and love for music with the world.
