Congratulations to Daisy Ivatt who was crowned the Spalding Flower Queen 2011 at a VIP reception in Ayscoughfee Hall Museum.
Daisy is 23 and from Northorpe Road in Donington and was inspired to enter the competition by her granddad Eric Ivatt who had always hoped she would be Flower Queen one day. As head of drama at Gleed Boys' School in Spalding she is used to being in front of big audiences.
Daisy said: "I was so happy and excited to win, I never expected to.
"I aim to really try to make a difference this year by getting as many people from all the corners of the area involved as much as possible. She says her strengths are having a positive attitude, being a good leader and problem solver and having excellent teamwork skills.
Daisy looked stunning on Parade Day in a beautiful lilac gown from Frocks and Rocks and rode in style to Springfields in a vintage Riley. The fairytale continued with her first sight of the Queen's Carriage. Daisy said, 'It was absolutely beautiful, I will remember this day for the rest of my life. It was a fantastic experience.' |
